Brian is a 3rd year PhD student in economics.  He holds a BA/BS in philosophy and math from Loyola University Chicago and an MPhil in economics from the University of Cambridge.  He has worked as a consultant to UNDP in Vietnam and to the World Bank in Tanzania, and before beginning graduate studies he was a long term volunteer in Guatemala.  Brian's dissertation research is on market structure in agricultural output markets in Tanzania, and on the role of expectations in agricultural production decisions. Other interests include trade theory, applied micro theory in a development context and premiership football.
