Masters Thesis Proposed: Natural Resource Management in Smallholder Farming systems of Western Kenya: The interplay of Cognitive Perceptions and other Socio-economic Parameters  

Paswel joined Cornell graduate school in the Fall 2003 from the university of Nairobi, Kenya where he had obtained a Ms degree in Agricultural Economics with a research interests in policy issues Technology Adoption in Maize-based smallholder farming systems of western Kenya. He has worked at the University of Nairobi as a Tutorial Fellow before joining Cornell.

Paswel intends to undertake his MS and PhD research in the area of Public Policy Analysis. His research themes during graduate program and thereafter will revolve around Resource Management Policies in relation to long-term poverty reduction in East Africa.  His research interests fall within the current and emerging paradigms that explain the relationships between natural and human capital, rural markets and dynamic poverty phenomena in East Africa.

Paswel is a Kenyan national and is recently married to Mercy. He has a soft spot for classical Music and African Jazz and whenever feasible enjoys watching soccer.
