The Department of Applied Economics and Management faculty are leading research scholars who explore business and economic issues from around the globe. They hold advanced degrees in business, applied economics, agricultural economics, law, statistics, and accounting.

Their work covers a wide range of topics, including research on such critical and newsworthy issues as the economic bailout and credit-market meltdown; obesity and food policy; emerging markets in Africa, China, India, and Latin America; food aid, global poverty, and hunger; investments and international finance; new business formation and commercialization of new technologies; biofuels; agricultural production, marketing, and policy; and biotechnology.
